I wish these were my holiday snaps..
Most of the time, when you go on an exotic holiday, you get home to find the terribly brilliant photos you think you took are, in actual fact, terribly boring and never as good as the memory. My sister has just returned from a tropical getaway in Thailand and has managed to bring back a whole memory stick full of beautiful photos that make me want to go to there (or anywhere!) immediately.. and not a dodgy, out of focus Thelma-and-Louise in sight.

etcetera etc..
Sibella Court is a stylist who I first saw judging a terrible reality home makeover show and honestly, I didn’t think much of her. But after seeing her new book, “Etcetera” I am officially in LOVE! The way she piles random, beautiful, shabby, precious things on top of each other in an abundant, haphazard fashion is absolutely stunning. She encourages hoarding or “bowerbirding” from anywhere and everywhere which is fantastic, especially when the emphasis is on things not necessarily needing to be new and expensive to be worth treasuring and displaying.
Her drab colour palette throughout most of the book is gorgeous and makes me want to throw out everything I own that is not some shade of beige. The book itself is beautiful as well! All rough recycled paper goodness.
Here are some of the pics from the book that are so lovely I want to tear them out and carry them around with me.

beautiful AND talented..
always be both if you can.. Cedric Bihr is the prefect example- he’s a model, a photographer, he skates AND he’s French! His photos are absolutely stunning and are on my top sites screen for easy access when I need a pale, interesting landscape pick-me-up.

post Finders Keepers
phew! Finders Keepers is over again and it was a fantastic, crazy blur. We want to say a big thankyou! to everyone who came down, elbows out to muscle through the hoards, visit us and spend your hard earned dollars.
Below are a few pics- all taken before the market actually kicked off mind you- the only time we managed a spare minute to get to the camera!
Loved the main stage decorations especially- many a plan was hatched to get that mammoth out the door with no-one noticing..
The Carriageworks is such an amazing space, and was lovely to kick around in for a few days. The new layout was excellent- less of a sardine tin and more of an ideal shopping space- even Andrew, the reluctant shopper purchased! Hat looks great AP.

Style Rookie on Style.com
Trawling through style.com I spotted this video by blogger Tavi of Style Rookie. I often visit Tavi’s blog, partly because it’s jammed with great, random images, quite often of her playing dress-ups. Not dress ups like how we used to do it as kids in old wedding dresses, uniforms and clothes from parentals- her dressing up is often in expensive clothes gifted to her by famous designers, or vintage pieces worn purposefully to reference this designer or that collection.
But the real reason I follow her blog is because she is THIRTEEN years old!……….!!! Do you remember what you were doing at 13? I’m pretty sure I was still eating paint and dying of embarrassment about everything when I was 13, and here she is, a fully fledged blogger with access to some pretty crazy people and parties and the get up and go to write about it. She’s pretty amazing really..would be so great to fast forward 20 years and see what she ends up doing with herself..
Her video is a collaboration with Rodarte, who she interviews about the collection they’ve produced for Target. Enjoy!

The list of designers showcasing is long and impressive, so should be a great few days! Come down, say hello and grab yourself a bargain as we begin our end of season sale. secret door for a secret squirrel
THIS is the best front door I have ever seen. I came across this place today on my travels and almost got hit by a car stumbling backwards onto the road to get a better look. When I am grown up enough to own my own home, I will have an entrance exactly like this.
The chimneys covered in leaves look like horns and the whole place like a giant leaf monster…The plant is a grape vine I think? Or some sort of deciduous species anyway which means it will turn a-mazing red and golden in autumn. I’ll have to remember to go back and check it out then.
